چکیده

Abstract Background Childhood-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (cSLE) is a kind of chronic inflammatory disease characterized by highly abnormal immune system. This study aimed to detect the serum levels Th (T helper) cytokines (IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-9, IL-10, IL-13, IL-17A, IL-17F, IL-21, IL-22, IFN-γ and TNF-α) in cSLE healthy controls, then elucidate their association with clinical manifestations, activity laboratory parameters. In order provide clues for early diagnosis timely intervention treatment patients. Methods A total 33 children 30 were enrolled this study. Children group classified into inactive or active according SLE index 2000 (SLEDAI-2 K) score. cytokine profiles peripheral blood detected analysed. Results Levels IL-2, IL-10 IL-21 significantly higher than those control ( P < 0.05, 0.01 0.01, respectively). Expression was that respectively), but IL-22 expression markedly lower 0.001). 0.05), IL-2 0.05). In-depth analysis showed after excluding age, gender drug interference, IL-6 0.05) still positively correlated SLEDAI-2 K scores. However, IFN- γ negatively CD4 + /CD8 , concentration occurrence nephritis. Conclusion provides theoretical basis discovery effective methods regulate imbalance T lymphocyte subsets cSLE, which may lead new approaches cSLE.

Cytokine profile in childhood-onset systemic lupus erythematosus: a cross-sectional and longitudinal study

Childhood-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (cSLE) exhibits an aggressive clinical phenotype and severe complications. This could be due to a pro-inflammatory cytokine milieu. Therefore, we determined plasma levels of Th1 (IL-2, IFN-γ, TNF), Th2 (IL-4), Th17 (IL-17A, IL-6), and Treg (IL-10) cytokines in a cohort of cSLE patients and healthy controls, and we evaluated the association between th...
